 “See it before you believe it” is the mantra Dr. Robert L. Akikta lives by. As the CEO and Founder of Power One Enterprises, LLC. Dr. Akikta travels both nationally and internationally as a motivational speaker and non-traditional Violence Prevention Trainer. He has dedicated his life and takes great pride in spreading the word of peace, through promoting both positive self-esteem and self-improvement. Dr. Akikta was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio and has been working in the field of community services as a positive leader for over 30 years. Dr. Akikta is a certified Martial Arts Grandmaster Teacher and Hall of Fame inductee. He utilizes his martial arts fundamentals, philosophies and science throughout communities and businesses. Using these techniques he cultivates and improves a person's self-discipline and social-emotional basic life skills. His training has helped to mold the lives of people in a variety of institutions, from schools to detention centers, group homes, businesses, and even jails. Dr. Akita has reached the hearts of thousands of youth and adults by providing the tools to empower individuals to heal from their painful feelings and start the process of cognitive and physical change for the better. He believes it is pivotal to bridge the gap between the police and the community and has worked with many law enforcement agencies to help educate them on the negative effects of racial discrimination within the community. There is no one more passionate, earnest and qualified than Dr. Robert Akikta to help bring people back to loving themselves, others and the world around them, while also providing them with the necessary tools to succeed.

 

Amy Graff: Co-founder of Power of One Enterprises since 2011. She also has been a teacher for Cincinnati Public Schools for over 25 years.  She loves being a teacher and working with the community she serves. However, what she loves most of all, is being a mother of three wonderful girls. Ms. Akikta believes that values and morals need to be taught at home through her own examples of being a leader.  She has received several awards in the last five years including The Major Award for Educational Excellence Award for teaching. Her and husband started Power of Unity to help individuals, families and communities to become more self-sufficient in promoting nonviolence, education and empowering the individuals to be the best they can be.
